just got home from the provinceS. what a trip! it was nothing like a road trip, rather a torture trip. More like being kidnapped and confined at the back of a car. I spent 10 hours inside the vehicle and 16 hours sleeping for the last 48 hours.
Here’s a flashback of the last 48 hours of my life.
Monday, October 31, 2005:
Mom woke us as early as 4:30am, but we left home at around past 7. thanks to my eldest brother’s adopted “gifts”, we wasted hours-worth of sleep. If only his gift-puppy’s poop wasn’t lying around inside the kitchen, which is still a mystery how it got there; and if his gift-kitties weren’t much of a wh*re (was about to say b*tch), that gives birth every now and then; we wouldn’t be in this pet mess. He just can’t refuse a “gift” from a friend, who’s just using the word “gift” for “pet disposal”. And since my brother lacks in the responsibility department, it just pushes my parents’ buttons - the wrong way! We had to have our early morning breakfast of scolding. Another thing of my brother, he’s allergic to my parents’ lectures.
We picked up our aunt and my cousin at mcdo, kalayaan. There, my mom left the kitty of the promiscuous gift-kitty by the road. Do svidanya kitty and welcome to the cruel world of street life! After 3 sleepy-hrs of traveling, we reached the locked up house of my grandparents in sariaya, quezon. Everything was still in order except for the salvaged furniture and empty kitchen. There’s no tv and radio so it’s gonna be a long day. We’re about to be bored when my eldest bro bought a deck of poker cards! Alas! He’s responsible enough to provide fun. We while away our time playing pusoy dos and tong-its; apparently, we were bonding. Awww…izo mushy! Around 3 in the afternoon, we went to the cemetery, to our grandparents’ mausoleum, to clean up a year-long dust. When we got there the place was crawling with spiders and thick webs were hanging almost everywhere, just like in the movies. we, or should I say my parents and aunt, swept the floor and walls and wiped the surfaces. After cleaning up the place, we stayed for the next 2 hours playing card games and solving crosswords. And after that,we walked back to the old house. our cousin and her baby Kika arrived. She’s totally asleep, like in hibernation. We pushed her side-to-side, tickled her everywhere, and called out her name; and still, she’s sound asleep. It took us 20 minutes or so when she finally opened her eyes and started yawning. Then, she started wailing. Good thing it was time for us to leave and head back to manila. We said goodbye to our cousins and aunt and to the baby.
We headed back to manila at around 7pm. We reached home at around quarter to ten but only left and picked some things within 10minutes. The trip to pampanga was free from heavy traffic, and so we reached our destination within less than two hours. Finally, I was able to take some sleep.
